Pearson, the global leader in lifelong learning, has announced the appointment of Dave Treat as its new Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Treat will report directly to Pearson CEO Omar Abbosh and collaborate closely with the company’s Chief Product and Chief Information Officers. His mandate includes steering technology innovation and enhancing Pearson’s presence within the AI and technology sectors.
Treat, a seasoned leader with 27 years of experience in technology and business transformation, joins Pearson from Accenture. There, he served as a Senior Managing Director, leading the Innovation Incubation Group. His expertise spans Generative AI, Digital Identity, Spatial Computing, Blockchain, Web 3, and Quantum Computing. Before Accenture, Treat held significant roles at Deloitte and UBS Investment Bank, focusing on technology innovation and transformation.
In his new role, Treat will drive strategic technology partnerships and engage with emerging tech and ed-tech startups. His appointment signals Pearson’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance learning experiences globally.

He is also an active member of the World Economic Forum, contributing his knowledge on blockchain, digital identity, and digital currency.
Treat will be based in Connecticut, USA, and will spearhead Pearson’s efforts to integrate advanced technologies into educational solutions.
